Buttery croissants warmed with ham and melted cheese until golden and crisp.

# What You'll Need:

→ Baked Goods

01 - 4 large all-butter croissants (preferably day-old)

→ Meats

02 - 4 slices high-quality cooked ham

→ Cheeses

03 - 4 slices Swiss cheese (Gruyère or Emmental recommended)

→ Condiments

04 - 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard (optional)
05 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

# Directions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Slice each croissant horizontally without cutting all the way through, creating a hinge.
03 - Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard inside each croissant, if using.
04 - Layer one slice of ham and one slice of cheese inside each croissant.
05 - Close croissants gently and brush tops with melted butter. Arrange on prepared baking sheet.
06 - Bake for 12-15 minutes until cheese is melted and croissants are golden and crisp.
07 - Serve warm.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The way the cheese oozes out the sides and gets crispy in the oven might ruin you for regular sandwiches forever
  • Dayold croissants actually work better than fresh ones because they hold up to the filling without getting soggy
02 -
  • Dont slice all the way through or your cheese will escape onto the baking sheet instead of staying inside
  • Room temperature croissants are easier to slice cleanly without crushing them
03 -
  • Let the croissants sit out for 30 minutes before baking if theyve been refrigerated
  • Sprinkle everything bagel seasoning on top before baking for extra flavor
